Last night at around 7:30 pm the historic Mchenry Mansion in Modesto, California somehow caught fire in the porch area of the front of the building. A local business owner and Modestan Pierre Noghli was the first to spot the fire as he left his downtown hair salon. He immediately called 911 and began to try to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. Firefighters rushed to the scene and were able to save the mansion limiting the damage to the front of the building and the porch area. Aside from what is being described as minor water damage, the inside of the structure is said to be in good shape.
